Is The Power of Positive Thinking a Protective Force?

the power of positive thinking 275x196A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort.” Herb Albright

Have you noticed how so many people get irritated when someone is upbeat, happy, enjoying life, and all around joyful?  When you think of it, it’s amazing how uncommon it is these days to actually love your life!

It’s also interesting to observe people who are completely the opposite, like “Eeyore” right out of Winnie the Pooh.  If you recall, Eeyore is a wonderful gray donkey whose head, ears and tail droop from the weight of the world that he carries around.  His life is totally gray, and everything seems hard to hm.

Take a moment and check out the people around you in your life.  How many are like that?  And how much do you look forward to hanging out with them?  These are the people it will likely irritate when you’re so filled with joy and so positive about life that you could burst out of your skin.

Given how valuable your time is, how much time do you really want to ‘spend‘ with these people?  If you want to generate more positive energy in your life, it’s best to limit your time with them.

But what if you happen to be related to them?

It’s not necessarily about excommunicating people from your life.  However, it’s vital to be mindful about who you have around you and especially what you allow to affect you.  You may not be able to totally avoid contact, but you can be alert and conscious so that you’re not negatively impacted by them.

Here’s a powerful reminder: Where you have complete domain is over yourself, what you allow in, and how you react to what shows up in your world and your life.

Is the power of positive thinking a protective force?

Yes, it is a powerful protective force against all those naysayers and Eeyores who are completely consumed by their negative thinking, and all the negative influences that abound today.

Think about all the media:

  • T.V. shows
  • News shows
  • Newspapers
  • Movies

They’re a feeding frenzy of negativity and limited thinking.  The media is operating like a drug, enticing us to watch more and more and more.

And virtually NONE of it is uplifting or inspiring!

Thank goodness for Oprah Winfrey and her OWN Network – what an astounding and brilliant breath of fresh air!!!

The power of positive thinking will help you to handle all the negative influences.  And, just like you’re choosing to limit your time with negative people, limit your time with all sources of negativity, including and especially the media.

Your goal probably isn’t to annoy people by being so positive.  Surely it’s to be at choice in how you’re leading your life, regardless of the external influences, and to keep yourself inspired and energizedThe power of positive thinking will help you do that every day of the week.
